I have been working in the ROI since 2001. I pay tax in the South and the North. Although my tax bill in the North is reduced because of the Double Taxation Agreement. My wife discovered that I am taxed as a single man (I am married and have 2 children) and we wonder why this is. Also we have heard of people who live in the North and do not pay tax like myself in the North.
I currently work in the Republic of Ireland and live in Northern Ireland. I am paying tax in Northern Ireland and in the Republic of Ireland. Is it possible to reclaim my tax in the Republic and only pay tax in the North? Or do I have to pay tax to both governments?
I live in Newry and work in Dundalk. For four years I have been unable to find out if I am entitled to claim any tax reliefs in the south? I currently have to pay tax to both Irish and UK Revenue.
